GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDER

in Children, Teenagers, and Adults

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is when a person has real, uncontrolled worry or fear

Children, teenagers, and adults with GAD experience chronic troubling thoughts.  These thoughts cannot be controlled and can happen any time day or night.  These thoughts can be about anything such as, school, health, friends, family, or anything else that can be on someone’s mind at that time.

Anyone with GAD may experience symptoms such as:

  • Stomachache

  • Headache

  • Muscle tension

  • Fatigue

  • Trouble concentrating in school

  • Feeling as if they cannot breathe or their heart is racing

"Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength."

Charles Spurgeon
