WHAT IS ANXIETY?
Anxiety is a normal and often healthy emotion. However, when a person regularly feels disproportionate levels of anxiety, it might become a medical disorder.
Everyone feels anxious. Anxiety is an important function of the human body to alert a person to a potential threat. It helps us to know when there is a problem and allows us to respond to it in appropriate ways.
However, when individuals have anxiety that interferes with their everyday lives it can become a problem. Examples of some anxiety disorders include:
